The Taylor Builder's Edition 912ce is a premium electro-acoustic guitar meticulously crafted with high-quality tonewoods and player-focused features. This Grand Auditorium model boasts a solid Honduran rosewood back and sides, known for its complex harmonic texture, warm lows, and clear trebles. The top is made from sinker redwood, reclaimed from old-growth logs submerged in riverbeds. This wood offers a warm, touch-sensitive response similar to cedar, but with increased volume and dynamic range.
Taylor's V-Class bracing system enhances the guitar's sonic performance by improving volume, sustain, and intonation. The design allows the top to be both stiff and flexible, resulting in a richer, more balanced tone. Comfort is a key consideration in the 912ce's design. Features like a bevelled armrest and cutaway, along with chamfered body edges, contribute to a comfortable playing experience. The smooth Curve Wing bridge further enhances playability.
The guitar is equipped with Taylor's Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics, a behind-the-saddle pickup system that captures the nuances of the guitar's acoustic sound. The ES2 features three individually calibrated sensors that respond to the guitar's energy, delivering a natural and dynamic amplified tone.
Aesthetically, the 912ce showcases elegant details, including Hawaiian koa purfling, paua edge trim, an ebony backstrap, and Gotoh 510 tuners in antique gold.
