Were thrilled to announce the expansion of the widely acclaimed Murphy Lab Collection with the addition of legendary Gibson acoustic models with Murphy Lab Heavy Ageing. These stunning recreations are full of character, vibe, and of course, that vintage tone!

Introduced in 1960 as Gibsons first square-shoulder acoustic guitar, the Hummingbird arrived at the dawn of a new era in music and was rapidly embraced by the prime movers on the scene. This stunning 1960 spec reissue brings back the magic of these very first Hummingbird models for todays players to enjoy!

This Murphy Lab 1960 Hummingbird begins with a Thermally Aged Sitka Sprue top that is supported with Gibsons traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing, creating a vintage-inspired tone. The back and sides are crafted from solid Mahogany and look truly stunning, it perfectly complements the rich Spruce top. The Washed Cherry Sunburst finish is visually stunning and features some awesome lacquer checking, the attention to detail is second to none! You can expect to see heavy belt buckle wear, light arm wear, and light neck wear alongside the checked finish.

The Mahogany neck is super comfortable and great for both bold chordal work and subtle fingerstyle playing. It features a 24.75 scale length alongside a round neck profile, allowing for quick, easy movements. The bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard features a 12 radius, 20 standard frets, 43.815mm nut width, and mother of pearl parallelogram inlays.

With Gotoh Keystone button tuners, and a traditional belly-up bridge design, you can expect great stability and performance. A period-correct black with goldenrod interior hardshell case from Gibson Custom is included, along with a certificate of authenticity.
