The Gibson SJ-200 Custom Ebony is a high-end acoustic guitar based on the classic SJ-200 design. It features a super jumbo flamed maple body with a Sitka spruce top for excellent tone and projection. This Custom version includes Les Paul Custom-inspired cosmetics, such as an ebony finish, multi-ply binding, a bound Les Paul-style peghead with a Custom split diamond inlay, and a bound ebony fretboard with mother of pearl Custom Block inlays. It also includes gold Grover Rotomatic tuners and the L.R. Baggs Session VTC pickup system for amplified use. A hardshell case is included.

The Gibson SJ-200 Custom Ebony is a premium acoustic guitar, building upon the legacy of the renowned SJ-200 "King of the Flat-tops," first introduced in 1937. This model features a super jumbo body constructed from flamed maple for the back and sides, paired with a Sitka spruce top. This combination of tonewoods is known for delivering a balanced tone with strong projection, making it suitable for both strumming and fingerstyle playing.
This Custom version of the SJ-200 incorporates several aesthetic features inspired by the Les Paul Custom. The guitar boasts an ebony nitrocellulose lacquer finish, giving it a sleek and sophisticated look. Multi-ply binding on the top and back, along with single-ply binding on the fretboard, adds to the instrument's refined appearance. The bound Les Paul-style peghead features a distinctive Custom split diamond inlay in mother of pearl. The bound ebony fretboard is adorned with mother of pearl Custom Block inlays. Gold Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure stable tuning.
The guitar's construction emphasises quality and playability. It utilises traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing for optimal resonance. The 2-piece maple neck with a walnut stringer provides stability, and the compound dovetail neck-to-body joint, secured with hot hide glue, enhances the transfer of vibrations between the neck and body. The ebony fingerboard has a 12-inch radius, and the bone nut has a width of 1.725 inches. The SJ-200 Two Bar Moustache bridge and bone saddle contribute to the guitar's clear tone.
For amplified performance, the SJ-200 Custom Ebony comes equipped with the L.R. Baggs Session VTC pickup system. This system, featuring soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls, provides a natural amplified sound for stage and studio use. The guitar comes with a hardshell case for protection during transport and storage.
