Description

The Synergy DIEZEL - VH4 Preamp Module offers guitarists access to the renowned high-gain tones associated with Peter Diezel and his Diezel Amplification brand. Since the introduction of the original VH4 amplifier in 1994, Diezel has become a respected name amongst rock and metal players seeking top-tier amplification. Peter Diezel's commitment to quality is evident in his personal hand-checking of every amplifier for over two decades. The Diezel range has expanded to include other notable models, but the VH4 remains a flagship, celebrated for its versatile and powerful sound.

The VH4 amplifier is particularly known for its four channels, capable of producing a wide spectrum of guitar tones. Channel four, in particular, has achieved legendary status, offering everything from crunchy overdrive to intense high-gain distortion. The balance of aggression and clarity found in this channel has attracted prominent musicians such as Adam Jones of Tool and James Hetfield of Metallica. The amplifier's design ensures that each note retains articulation even at high gain levels, maintaining a strong and defined character. The VH4 is considered a key factor in establishing Diezel's reputation for exceptional high-gain amplifier engineering.

The Synergy Diezel VH4 Preamp Module provides users with the same powerful guitar tones that have made the Diezel brand so highly regarded. This module is not simply an imitation; Peter Diezel himself designed it to ensure the authentic sound and feel of the original VH4 amplifier are accurately reproduced. The two-channel design features independent three-band EQ sections for each channel, allowing for precise control over distinct lead and rhythm tones. The module utilises 12AX7 preamp tubes, which contribute to the characteristic aggressive yet refined sound that Diezel amplifiers are known for.

Key features of the Synergy VH4 preamp module include two channels, each equipped with controls for gain, volume, and a three-band equaliser. Additionally, the module incorporates a Cathode Select Switch. This three-position switch allows users to adjust the input tube bass response, effectively emulating different component combinations found in the input stages of various amplifiers. This feature influences the overall feel and tightness of the sound. The module is shipped with the switch set to Peter Diezel's preferred configuration for the VH4, which is position 2, utilising a 2.7K resistor and a 0.68uf capacitor. This level of detail ensures that users can achieve the authentic tonal characteristics of the original amplifier.
