We’re thrilled to introduce the latest edition of Mark Tremonti’s iconic PRS MT-15 amplifier. This latest edition builds on the original MT-15 formula, but features a new refined look, and a couple exciting new features.
The MT-15 V2 The MT 15 is a commanding two channel amp with balanced aggression and articulation. Don’t be fooled by its small size, it punches above its weight class with a large, bold sound. It’s supper tight, making it perfect for heavy rhythms, but also excels at creating soaring lead tone! With a pair of TAD 6L6GCM-STR Power Tubes, and six 12AX7 / ECC83 Preamp Tubes, this amplifier deliver 15 watts of pure tone! But to be honest, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how loud this amplifier is, it sounds much more like 50 watts! Thanks to the super useful half power switch, this amplifier is also able to run at 7 watts.
The original MT 15s design started with heavier players in mind, but in the end, it ended up being one of the most versatile amplifiers at this price point. Much like the PRS Archon amplifier, the MT 15 V2 features five gain stages before the Master for full, lush distortion. The MT-15 V2 also takes a lot of inspiration from its older sibling, the MT-100. With a few new additions to the control layout, you’re able to capture the magic of the MT-100s third channel, which allows this amp to deliver aggression, articulation, and heavy tones.
The Lead channel delivers a bold, chunky sound with a powerful, tight low end, maintaining clear note definition and excellent lead tone. It includes a push/pull overdrive control that cuts two gain stages for vintage, crunchier mid-gain tones. The Clean channel offers a bright, chimey sound, ideal for chords and fingerstyle playing, with or without a pick. Its push/pull boost control adds subtle overdrive for classic crunch. Across all settings, the MT 15 remains balanced, delivering a sweet, smooth tone without harshness.
Additional features include an effects loop and bias adjusters that are accessible from the back panel for ease of servicing.
