New in for 2016 is the limited edition 414ce from Taylor which replaces the ovangkol/spruce combo with the rarer Engelmann spruce instead of the usual sitka. Engelmann spruce offers a much more sought after "played in" tone straight out of the box, giving you a slightly warmer midrange coming through. Many consider ovangkol to be very similar to rosewood in terms of tonal properties and together with the Engelmann is creates a lovely balanced sound.
Of course you still retain that signature Taylor sound but together with the shaded edgeburst design on this limited model, you'll have yourself something a little different to the usual!
