One of the lightest acoustic guitars i've ever but it certainly doesn't lack any weight in the tone! This guitar is incredible!
Introduced in the 1960's as Gibson's first square-shouldered dreadnought, the Hummingbird arrived at the start of a new era in music, and was rapidly embraced by folk/country/blues artists of the time. Built with Thermally Cured (vintage now) sitka spruce top, the new 2016 Hummingbird Vintage reflects the appearance and performance of those early iconic instruments.
The thermally cured top is designed to replicate the tone of dynamics of a 50 year old piece of seasoned wood, so it's really dry and resonant, which means the guitar has a sweet bell like tone, but can rock when driven hard with a plectrum
The guitar has a VOS finish, like some of Gibsons best selling custom shop Les Pauls, so it has that slightly worn-in look, without any major dinks. It just adds so much vibe and character to the guitar.
