Fresh in from Nazareth, Pennsylvania is the CF Martin Custom Shop D-14 Fret. Martin were the innovators behind the dreadnought, designed to offer greater projection and volume and a better bass response, it’s become a real players favourite body size.
With a super sleek Adirondack Spruce top you get a really dynamic and responsive tone. Adirondack responds really nicely to a players touch and offers some real sweet overtones. Pair that with the Sinker Mahogany back and sides and you have a tonal dream team. Sinker Mahogany is the talk of the very best Nashville session guys at the moment, originating in Belize, this Mahogany was felled between 1880 and 1920 by the British with the intention of building vast ships. The less buoyant logs often sunk to the bottom and were preserved by a lack of oxygen and a torrent of river silt, these logs have a density that is perfect for guitar building.
The Mahogany neck is an absolute dream to play. With a Modified Low Oval with PA taper neck shape, 16” radius, 25.34” scale length and a 1 3/4” nut width, this Martin is supremely comfortable and smooth underhand. The Black Ebony fingerboard is the perfect partner for this neck; beautifully crafted it’s a real treat to play.
