There are certain guitars that stand the test of time and with its timeless design, effortless playability and rich history, it's easy to see why the Gibson ES-335 remains such an iconic guitar.
To celebrate this classic guitars contribution to music, Gibson have released the Gibson Memphis ES-335 Anchor Stud Bigsby VOS Antique, a modern take on a classic ‘50s rock ‘n' roll guitar.
Designed with a 1950s body shape with mouse ear horns, the body sports the ever popular Antique Ebony VOS nitrocellulose finish. This thin lacquer will wear beautifully over time, just like the original models. The 3ply Maple/Poplar/Maple body combination provides an authentic and rich tone, with a modern weight relieved Maple centre block; it's super comfortable and well balanced.
The neck is something special, crafted from quarter-sawn Mahogany, it features a gorgeous bound Rosewood fingerboard, embellished with Pearloid Small Block inlays. With a rounded C profile, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 12" radius and 24.75" scale length, this is a serious player's guitar.
A pair of Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers delivers those classic tones, deep, rich and resonant they offer great clarity. These PAF style pickups are slightly underwound and feature unbalanced coils for a truly historic sound. Hand wired with matched 550k pots and Orange Drop capacitors, this guitar is an unfiltered tone machine, and with an aluminium Bigsby B-7 tremolo system, you can add some lush textures to your playing without compromising on tuning stability or intonation.
With a hardcase and COA, this guitar is vintage in all aspects but age!
