Martin are world renowned for their ability to craft beautiful guitars perfect for the working musician. Their latest collection shows exactly the kind of quality that has kept that at the top of the game for over 100 years. Martin are super proud to present a super limited edition David Gilmour D-35. For over forty years his Martin D12-28 12 string was a constant in David Gilmour's recording & song writing palette. When this guitar went to auction in 2019 Martin were delighted to be able to work with him to create a 12 string for his music today.
With an incredible Carpathian Spruce top you get a really dynamic and vibrant tone. Pair that with the awesome Sinker Mahogany back and sides and you have a tone wood match made in heaven. This Signature D-35 is the first of its kind to ever feature the use of sinker Mahogany, specifically chosen by David for its warm, rich tones and exquisitely beautiful grain, it's visually and tonally stunning. The 14th fret join allows for great access up the neck and a perfectly poised and balanced playing experience. The reverse of the headstock features a super slick headstamp, it's those little features that really make this guitar special
The Sinker Mahogany neck is an absolute dream to play. With a custom signature neck shape, 24.9 scale length and a 1 13/16" nut width, this Martin is supremely comfortable and smooth underhand. The Ebony fingerboard is the perfect partner for this neck; beautifully crafted its a real treat to play.
This David Gilmour D-35 really does capture the magic of the vintage original. These guitars are super limited with there only being 250 pieces world wide with each serial number hand-signed by David himself.
