Description

In response to the rise of affordable, Japanese-made guitars in the late 1960s posing a threat to American manufacturers, the Sigma Guitars line was launched in 1970. Crafted by skilled artisans in efficient Japanese factories, these guitars underwent rigorous inspection in the US before reaching the market. The Sigma brand swiftly garnered acclaim for its superior construction quality and exceptional sound, cultivating a devoted following and collectors' interest, with second-hand models scarce due to owners' reluctance to part with them.

Enter the Sigma 15 Series, boasting a solid mahogany top, neck, back, and sides, making it a distinctive acoustic guitar model. Departing from the brightly-coloured, resonant tops of its predecessors, the all-mahogany construction harks back to the original alternative sought by those craving a unique aesthetic and sound profile. Now enhanced with a satin finish and adorned with a single ring rosette inlay, the 15 Series epitomises understated elegance.

The Sigma 15 Series 000M-15E is characterised by its 000-14 Fret body size and dovetail neck joint construction, ensuring durability and resonance. Its solid mahogany top and mahogany back and sides contribute to a warm, rich tone coveted by discerning musicians. The mahogany neck, featuring a low profile, offers comfortable playability, while the bone nut and saddle, along with Micarta fingerboard and bridge, ensure excellent tonal clarity and sustain.

Exclusive to the UK market, the electro version of the Sigma 15 Series comes equipped with a Sigma preamp and built-in digital tuner, providing versatility for both live performances and studio recordings. With a scale length of 25.4 inches (645 mm) and a neck width at the nut of 1-11/16 inches (42.9 mm), it offers a balanced feel and precise fretting. Completing the package are chrome Grover diecast tuning machines and D'Addario EXP16 strings, ensuring reliable tuning stability and optimal string response.
