Founded back in 2009 by long time PRS designer Joe Knaggs, Knaggs Guitars experienced team of world class luthiers craft guitars of the very highest standard. With guys like Steve Stevens and Doug Rappaport on their roster, Knaggs build guitars for some of the finest players around. Their latest signature artist is blues/rock connoisseur Eric Steckel, hailed by many as a rising star in the guitar world; Steckel has been pleasing crowds since he was just 11 years old. After a period playing with blues legend John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers he branched off on his own and released several critically acclaimed albums. The new Eric Steckel signature Kenai is a Knaggs like no other, with a super thick body with almost no back carve, this thing is super resonant and will deliver monster tones.
Utilising the traditional tonewood powerhouse combo of Mahogany and Maple, this Knaggs is finished in Dark Cherry Burst. This colour choice really helps to bring out the beauty of the figured T2 Maple top. Perfectly weighted and super resonant, this is a tonal masterpiece.
The Mahogany neck features an East Indian Rosewood fingerboard with intricate morning star inlays and boasts a sweet old school vibe 3 a side headstock. With a 24.75" Scale length, 22 frets and a 12" radius it is smooth, beautifully finished and balanced, with great access right up the neck this guitar is at home playing a wide range of styles.
With a stop tail bridge and Kluson tuners, this guitar has great tuning stability and offers a playing experience unlike any other. With a duo of Seymour Duncan Candy humbuckers you get a smooth, articulate tone. These humbuckers are a special recreation of the Alnico III humbuckers found in Steckel's 1960 Les Paul. This set is beautifully dynamic and delivers incredible tone.
The attention to detail and innovation on display here is equal to the very best on the market.
