Description

Marcus King is one of the hottest new guitarists out there, best known as the frontman, lead singer and guitarist of "The Marcus King Band". The Gibson Custom Marcus King 1962 ES-345 signature model is one super special piece, a highly personalised recreation of the classic model that has been handed down through the generations of the King family. Our good friends at the Gibson Custom Shop have painstakingly analysed every detail to deliver and accurate and authentic recreation of this awesome guitar

The Marcus King ES-345 features a 3-Ply Maple/Poplar/Maple traditional construction. Finished in a stunning Sixties Cherry nitrocellulose lacquer this guitar is able to breathe and resonate much more effectively when compared to other finish types. it is super lightweight and feels great against the body.

In classic Gibson fashion the Marcus King ES-345 features a strong and stable Mahogany neck with a classic Indian Rosewood fretboard. It is adorned with split parallelogram inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 12" radius, 1.665" nut width and of course a 24.75" scale length, it is supremely comfortable and thanks to the Rounded Early 60s custom profile it feels exactly like King's original.

A pair of Gibson Custombucker pickups deliver those classic ES series tones, incredibly rich and full sounding and thanks to their brilliant versatility you can craft just about any tone you can imagine. In classic ES-345 spirit the Marcus King signature features a 6-position mono Varitone switch along side 2 volume and 2 tone controls, allowing you to really nail those classic blues tones along with so much more.

The Gibson Custom Shop Marcus King is a recreation of a super unique and rare vintage guitar, that is of course is the ES-345 with a rare sideways vibrola tailpiece. This is exactly how King's grandfather bought the guitar new, it's a super interesting and unique example of a vintage Gibson. The Gibson Custom Shop is committed to reflecting the historical accuracy and playing experience of Marcus King's original guitar including the tailpiece. As this tailpiece was designed for flat-topped SG models and not for archtops, it does have the potential to graze the finish if used, just like how it is on the original guitar.

This guitar offers an interesting and unique insight into the world of vintage Gibson, showing off what is perhaps one of the most unique examples of the classic ES-345, housed in a custom ES style case with a certificate of authenticity and a hand carved Marcus King belt buckle.
