This ES-355 features an all Maple construction, making it super resonant and well balanced. Its beautifully finished in Wine Red and aged by the incredible Murphy Lab team, an all new division dedicated to the art of innovation who are highly skilled in ageing guitars using the latest and most sophisticated technology and tools. Headed by legendary builder "Tom Murphy", these really are the best of Gibson .Finished off with Aged Gold hardware these look super slick.
The neck is something special, featuring a 3-piece Maple construction with an authentic profile and Volute to match the original. It includes a gorgeous Ebony fingerboard, embellished with custom inlays. With 22 frets and a 24.75" scale length it feels smooth and comfortable, equally at home playing slick lead work or heavy chord strumming. With hide glue construction and split diamond headstock inlay, this 355 offers true vintage tonality.
A pair of Gibson 68 Custombucker Alnico 5 humbuckers delivers those classic PAF tones, deep, rich and resonant they offer great clarity. According to Gibson these are some of the most historically accurate PAF clones on the market, with an ultra-rich harmonic quality; it's as close as you can get to the classic 355 tone. Finished up with a 6 position Varitione switch, long maestro vibrola and Grover keystone tuners.
Complete with Gibson hardcase, captains hat, conduit bracket/finger holder and certificate of authenticity it's a great take tribute to one of the most iconic players of all time. Only 100 guitars will be hand-made by the expert luthiers and craftspeople of the Gibson Custom Shop as part of this very special limited run.
