The Roasted Ash body is finished in a classic White Blonde nitro lacquer, it's a real beauty; this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. The thin nitro finish also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1951 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work.
The Roasted Quartersawn Maple neck has a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, 65 Strat "C" neck that measures .820" at the 1st fret and .974" at the 12th, 21 6105 frets, a 1.650 Nut Width and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '51 Nocaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand wound 50-51 Blackguard neck pickup and a hand wound Crushed Blackguard bridge pickup you can cover every tone you can think of. They are beautifully dynamic and handle both clean and gain incredibly well.
The original '51 Nocaster are the stuff of legend, a real collector's piece. This Custom Shop '51, well that's a player's guitar!
