The Taylor Custom #27 T5z is a versatile hybrid hollowbody guitar designed for musicians who need both acoustic and electric tones in one instrument. Its lightweight shamel ash body, responsibly sourced from Southern California, provides excellent resonance and sustain. The antique blond Big Leaf maple top features unique heartwood on both the bass and treble sides, giving the guitar a distinctive aesthetic. Designed for comfort, it includes rounded body edges, an integral armrest, and a slim mahogany neck with jumbo frets for effortless playability.
Equipped with three pickups, the T5z offers a broad tonal range suited for multiple playing styles. The magnetic acoustic body sensor captures warm, natural acoustic tones, while the concealed neck humbucker and visible bridge humbucker deliver everything from rich, clean electric sounds to high-gain lead tones. The five-way switching system allows players to seamlessly transition between acoustic and electric settings, making it ideal for live performances and studio recording.
The guitar features a West African Crelicam Ebony bridge paired with a Micarta saddle and a TUSQ nut, enhancing sustain, clarity, and tonal consistency. These premium materials contribute to precise intonation and a balanced response across all frequencies.

The boxwood peghead logo and Boxed Wave fretboard inlays add a refined touch, while the high-gloss finish enhances the wood’s natural beauty.
