The Sigma Standard Series epitomises excellence in acoustic guitar craftsmanship, stemming from a rich history dating back to the 1970s when American manufacturers responded to Japanese competition with Sigma Guitars. Hand-selected solid spruce tops, coupled with an ultra-thin high gloss finish, define this series, promising superior sound quality and aesthetic appeal. Amongst its standout models, the Sigma DT-41 boasts a D-14 fret body size, dovetail neck joint, and a solid Sitka spruce top, all contributing to its balanced tone and stability. Featuring intricate abalone inlay on the fretboard and rosette, this guitar appeals to those with refined tastes. With additional features like Grover Gold open-gear tuning machines, bone nut and saddle, and a polished gloss finish, the Sigma DT-41 represents a harmonious blend of tradition, quality, and modern enhancements, making it a coveted choice for discerning musicians.
In the late 1960s, US guitar manufacturers faced significant competition from affordable, high-quality Japanese-made guitars that closely resembled American models. To regain their market share, American companies launched Sigma Guitars in 1970. These acoustic guitars, crafted by skilled workers in efficient Japanese factories, were inspected in the US before being sold. Sigma Guitars quickly established a reputation for their exceptional quality in both construction and sound, leading to a dedicated fan base and collectors. Second-hand models are rarely available as owners are reluctant to part with them.
