Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB Model Huckbucker
The JB is Seymour Duncan's most popular ever humbucker and for good reason, it's one of the most versatile pickups on the market and excels in a wide range of genres.
The JB is Seymour Duncan's most popular ever humbucker and for good reason, it's one of the most versatile pickups on the market and excels in a wide range of genres. Providing a full and powerful low end, crisp, detailed highs and an upper midrange bump that not only helps you cut through with solos but adds some girth to heavy chords. The hot output lets you push your amp a little harder but still clean up when the volume is backed off.
While the highs are great for cutting through if you wanted to soften and sweeten the tone slightly you can wire it up with a 250k pot rather than the normally used 500k. The JB makes a great pairing with the Jazz or 59 neck pickups or it's equally at home in the neck position for a super fat lead tone.
The JB (SH-4) humbucker is hand built in Seymour Duncan's Santa Barbara, CA factory using a alnico 5 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate and 4-conductor wire for a range of wiring options. This set is also wax potted for squeal-free performance. The JB is available in standard and Trembucker spacing as well as both 6 and 7 string options.
