The Schecter Custom Shop "Sultan" is a replica of the iconic guitar Mark used during the mid '80's during the height of Dire Straits.
The Alder body is typically comfortable, as all Schecter S types are, and with a crisp and classic Candy Apple Red finish it looks real slick and just like Mark’s guitar. The bolt on Birdseye Maple neck features a custom C profile, designed for precision and comfort; it's equally at home playing big chords or intricate lead work. The neck is a real stunner and is a really understated and refined feature of this guitar.
The pickups are the defining feature of this guitar. Mark Knofpler had such an iconic crystalline tone that very few can replicate. The Schecter Sultan A2 set in an SSS configuration deliver Knopfler tone by the bucket load! Equipped with 1 volume and 1 tone, the Sultan benefits from 3 individual super switches, allowing for each pickup to be on/off/phase.
