For a professional musician such as Daniel, a bass is required that will stand up to the road and not let him down during a gig. This awesome looking Schecter has Grover machine heads, so straight away that's the tuning taken care of. The neck has carbon-fibre rods reinforcing it, keeping it from warping during temperature and humidity changes. The fingerboard is ebony and the inlays are real mother of pearl blocks, which look very different to the often used pearloid plastic.
The neck is attached to the body with neck-thru construction, making for rock solid tone and stability. The top is quilted maple, sitting on top of a beautiful mahogany body. A Schecter Custom bridge lets the player string through the body or top load, depending on their preference.
The thumping yet clear tone is courtesy of Fishman Fluence pickups, which are completely consistent from set to set, so you know you'll get the same tone that Daniel does. The volume control can be used as a push/pull for single coil tones, the pickups can be blended, there is a 3-band EMG EQ and a toggle switch that changes the voicing between Classic, Funk and Modern. This opens the bass up to a world of versatility and makes it a suitable choice for multiple genres, amps and pedals.
An all round fantastic instrument, both for making music and honouring the British legends.
