Under the careful guidance of legendary amp builder Randall Smith, Mesa Boogie would go on to drastically alter the world of music and quickly became the original "boutique" amplifier brand. Back in 2021, our friends over at Gibson acquired the Mesa Boogie brand and promised to take their iconic designs to new heights. Headed up by Master Designer Randall Smith, this new era of Mesa Boogie promises incredible tone and unprecedented reliability.

The MESA/Boogie Badlander Collection, crafted by Randall Smith and his team in Petaluma, California, offers modern rock and metal players the punch, power, and gain they crave. With a tighter, meaner, and more aggressive take on the Dual Rectifier concept, the Badlander addresses player feedback for refined highs and lows, less mid-scoop, and a touch of British influence alongside its American-voiced gain. Whether running direct with CabClone technology or blasting through a 4x12 cabinet, the Badlander sets a new standard for heavy tone.

The Badlander 100 amplifier showcases MESA's innovative Multi-Watt Power Switch, offering three distinct wattage settings. At full power, it unleashes the complete 100 watts utilizing the quartet of EL34s, while the half power setting optimizes two EL34s, delivering a robust 50 watts. Additionally, a reconfigured Triode wired option produces 20 watts of rich, clip-able tones utilizing a pair of output tubes. Each setting brings its own advantages and tonal characteristics, providing a wide array of possibilities when combined with the available preamp Modes, offering diverse gain structures and customizable sounds.

Sonically, the Badlander 100 delivers exceptional clean headroom and tight-tracking Gain tones with substantial depth and punch, projecting a dimensional soundstage. Regardless of the Mode chosen, this amplifier exudes commanding tone with instant authority, thanks to its dynamic power section that ensures ample reserves to handle any performance setting. Both channels of the Badlander 100 boast Independent 3-Position Style Mode Switches, along with comprehensive controls including Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, Master, and 8-Position CabClone IR Select Controls, empowering users to fine-tune their desired sound with precision.

Designed with recording in mind, the Badlander 100 features MESA's first onboard CabClone IR, facilitating seamless DI with Channel Specific IR Assignment for the 8 virtual Cabinets and a Reactive Load that offers an authentic sound and responsive feel.
