Description

In the world of acoustic guitars, one brand has consistently set the standard for excellence - Lowden. And within the Lowden lineup, there's a series that can only be described as the pinnacle of perfection - the 50 Series, often referred to as the Lowden Custom Shop.

Master Grade Woods: At the heart of the O-50 lies the secret to its extraordinary tone and visual allure - Master Grade tone woods. These are not just any woods; they are the best of the best, handpicked for their exceptional tonal and visual properties. George Lowden himself has said that when these tone woods arrive at the Lowden workshop, they undergo multiple re-gradings, ensuring that only the rarest and most exceptional pieces find their way into the 50 Series. Each O-50 benefits both visually and tonally from this very special wood. Simply put, these are the very best that Lowden can create!

Intricate Aesthetic Appointments: As you move up to the 50 Series, you'll find that the aesthetic appointments become even more complex and intricate. From highly figured wood bindings to purflings on the top, sides, and back, and a seven-piece hand-inlaid back centre seam, every detail showcases the artistry and craftsmanship that defines Lowden. The abalone and figured wood rosette, along with an extended maple-bound ebony fingerboard, add to the guitar's visual splendour. Bookmatched ebony front and back head facings complete the elegant look.

Exquisite Tonewoods: The O-50 features Master Grade Walnut for its back and sides, offering a unique tonal character with clarity and warmth. The soundboard is crafted from Master Grade Sinker Redwood, known for its exceptional resonance and responsiveness. Together, these tonewoods create a sonic palette that will captivate both players and listeners.

Playability: The GL standard neck profile ensures comfort and accessibility, measuring 45mm at the nut and extending to 57mm at the 14th fret. Whether you're a fingerstyle player, a strummer, or a picker, the O-50 offers versatility and ease of play.

Elegance in Every Detail: The fingerboard is an extended curved end ebony with maple bindings, offering both a luxurious feel and stunning aesthetics. Ebony binding and Mahogany-Maple-Rocklite purflings add the final touches to this magnificent instrument.

Precise Tuning: The Gotoh Gold 510 tuners with ebony buttons guarantee smooth and precise tuning, so your music flows effortlessly.

Sonic Brilliance: The O-50's O-shaped soundbox design brings out the best in your playing. Designed to increase treble response, it balances the natural bass-heavy tonal characteristics of larger-bodied guitars. Whether you're strumming or fingerpicking, this guitar offers a responsive, well-balanced sound that's perfect for a wide range of musical styles.

When you choose the O-50, you're choosing the very best that Lowden has to offer - a guitar that transcends mere musical equipment and becomes a true work of art.
