The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '51 Custom Nocaster they really push the boundaries of Leo Fenders vision.
A lightweight Ash body is finished in a lush Faded Nocaster Blonde NOS nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1951 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work. This particular model debuted at NAMM 2017 and features a special 30th Anniversary decal.
The quartersawn Maple neck has a smooth, alt vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius and 21 frets, the '51 Nocaster features a Nocaster U style profile; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '51 Nocaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. Loaded with a hand wound 51 Nocaster at the bridge, this Nocaster benefits from a Texas Special at the neck, you certainly get that famous Tele' tone.
The original '51 Nocaster's are the stuff of legend, a real collector's piece. The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Nocaster, well that's a player's guitar!
