Description

Originally released as a 26 piece "Private Stock Guitar of the Month" run in February 2016, the PRS MCarty 594 model was really brought to our attention by John Mayer, during a live Periscope video where he was talking about several things, including some of his favourite guitars and as soon as that video came out, the demand for the guitar was amazing!

Of course not everyone could obtain one of these £10,000 instruments, regardless of price, all 26 sold out immediately, so we're super pleased to see that PRS have released the guitar into the core line

We have plenty of these on order and they're undoubtedly going to be super popular.

Here's what John Mayer had to say about his PS 594

"The 594 is the best new guitar I've played in years. It has a vintage heart and soul but without the technical limitations that usually come along with an old instrument. What good is an old guitar if you can't get all that feel out of the upper frets, or the intonation is off To hear that old PAF sound but be able to articulate the notes in a way that only modern manufacturing could allow is so exciting. Ths one's going all over my new record, because it sits so nicely between all of the sonic identities we all know and love. And it plays like a dream."

Go to the 19 minute mark to see John playing the guitar

It's named the McCarty 594 to honour Paul's mentor Ted McCarty, it's attempts to pay its respects to vintage 'Golden era' instruments but with a modern build techniques that you've come to expect from their top shelf work.

Featuring a 24.594" scale length, just a touch longer than normal, and this is where the model gets it's 594 name.

Loaded with a pair of '58/15 LT' pickups, where LT means low turns, this takes the incredibly successful 58/15's and turns them down a touch to a lower output tone.

The 594 has 2 volume and 2 push/pull tone controls and they're set in places that let players roll off both volume knobs at the same time, plus the coil splits provide a load of tonal setups that can be dialed up on the fly.

Another huge feature of this model is a new neck carve called 'Pattern Vintage', this is the same width as the full pattern neck, but a little thicker front to back, with an asymmetrical carve with a touch more on the bass side of the neck, and a touch less on the treble side.

Also sporting fancy new 'Tweaked phase III' tuners that allow you to take the tuners out of play when not in use.
