Here we have a cool instrument, and something of a rarity too. This PRS S2 semi-hollow Vela is made from reclaimed Brauna Preto and Peroba Rosa... Those aren't people, they're recovered exotic woods from old buildings in Brazil that are up to 100 years of age. These incredibly rare wood choices create a tone and visual appeal which is quite unique
The top wood is Peroba Rosa, this often used as wall cladding in Brazil, as a tone wood it's punchy, but full too, and quite distinctive as well. The Fretboard is the Brauna Preto, which are recovered from the supporting posts of the buildings, which is an usual claim for a fretboard too. No brazilian people were left with leaky or wobbly homes during the creation of these guitars, just in case you were concerned.
A Mahogany back is capped with the Peroba Rosa. Attached to that is a 24 fret, 25" scale length maple neck in the pattern thin profile, and inlayed with the old school birds design. The pickups are a pair of the excellent 85/15 pickups and all of it is controlled from a volume, and push/pull tone control, along with a 3 way toggle pickup selector.
Really unusual and cool guitar here, and it's always nice for instruments to have a story attached on top of playing and sounding awesome.
