Knaggs Doug Rappoport Signature Kenai Black

Doug Rappoport is a pretty in demand player, not only does he hold down a regular gig in Edgar Winters band but he is a session player, gear demo expert and sometime American Idol band member, pretty cool! His current go to guitar is the signature Knaggs Doug Rappoport Kenai.

Founded back in 2009 by long time PRS designer Joe Knaggs, Knaggs Guitars experienced team of world class luthiers craft guitars of the very highest standard.

The Doug Rappoport Kenai T3 is a superb players guitar that delivers massively on tone, playability and versatility. With the classic tonewood combo of Mahogany and Maple the Kenai is perfectly balanced and super resonant. Finished in Satin Black with Stained Onyx binding, its a guitar that is ready to hit the stage every night.

The Mahogany neck features a Macassar Ebony fingerboard with Block inlays; with great access right up the neck this guitar is at home playing a wide range of styles. With Grover tuners and a Knaggs bridge, this guitar has great tuning stability and a really nice playing action.

With a duo of Seymour Duncan pickups, a Doug Rappoport set which include a SH-2N Jazz and a Custom Shop 78, you get Classic era Van Halen-esque tone. The Jazz is a bright, vintage voiced humbucker which is great at retaining clarity even through a wall of distortion, while the 78 is like a PAF but with a little bit more output. In place of the usual secondary tone control, the DR Kenai features a momentary action kill switch for some cool stuttering effects.
