There are certain guitars that stand the test of time and with its timeless design, effortless playability and rich history, it's easy to see why the Gibson ES-335 remains such an iconic guitar. The 2018 Gibson Memphis ES-335 Figured Aquamarine is a visually and tonally stunning guitar.
Featuring a 3-ply AAA Figured Maple/Poplar/Maple body, it's finished in a slick, vibrant Aquamarine; it’s a bold colour choice but perfectly complements the beautiful figuring of the Maple top. Delivering a rich and authentic tone, the 2018 ES-335 is super resonant and beautifully balanced; it just oozes that Gibson vibe.
The neck is something special, crafted from quarter sawn Mahogany; it features a gorgeous bound Rosewood fingerboard, embellished with pearloid small block inlays. With 22 frets, a 12" radius and a 24.75" scale length it feels smooth and comfortable, equally at home playing slick lead work or heavy chord strumming.
A pair of Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers delivers those classic '60s tones, deep, rich and resonant they offer great clarity. These PAF style pickups are slightly underwound and feature unbalanced coils for a truly historic sound. Hand wired with matched 550K pots and Orange Drop capacitors, this is as good as it gets!
