A few years ago Gibson introduced a signature Jim Dickinson 335 with a Bigsby and P90's, that guitar was inspired by Jim's own old 335 and his Dads favourite old 1954 ES-175, well this is a faithful replica of that ES-175.
The ES-175 debuted in 1949 and has remained the world's favourite jazz box ever since. The Gibson Custom '54 ES-175D takes us right back to the early days of this timeless classic.
With a traditional Maple top and back, in the classic single cutaway design, it features period correct solid Maple rims and quartered Adirondack Spruce braces. Rich in depth and with exceptional sustain, the ES-175D is truly authentic in both looks and sound.
A tan bound Rosewood fretboard sits upon a Mahogany neck and features 19 frets, a 12" radius and a 24.75" scale length. Perfect for sweeping jazz licks, this guitar looks and plays like a million dollars. A pair of MHS P-90 pickups offer smooth, jazz/blues tones and are wired to vintage style 'no logo' potentiometers.
With a fully hollow body, the ES-175D really stands out as an exceptional take on the all-time number one jazz guitar. With only 50 available across the globe, this limited run is sure to move fast!
