The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop Telecaster Pro Closet Classic they fuse vintage fender design with modern day playability and functionality.
With the appearance of a vintage guitar this Custom Shop model benefits from all the playability and reliability of a brand new one. The body is crafted from 100 year old Pine that was salvaged from old barns, it offers a unique tonal response and is a nod to the original prototype Fenders, which were all constructed using Pine. Finished in a classic Vintage Blonde, this guitar has the Closet Classic ageing, built as if it was bought new in its respective model year, played maybe a few times per year and then carefully put away, it features a few dings, a checked finish, lightly oxidised hardware and aged plastic parts.
The Quartersawn Maple neck is also finished in nitro lacquer for a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, 22 frets, large C profile and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, this Custom Shop Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With dual hand-wound Twisted Tele pickups and Fender's highly revered Greasebucket tone circuit; it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
