The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Fender Custom Shop '60 Telecaster they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
The Alder body is finished in the classic Olympic White Lush Closet Classic finish. Authentically aged, this guitar was built as if it was bought new in its respective model year, played maybe a few times per year and then carefully put away; it features a few dings, a checked finish, lightly oxidised hardware and aged plastic parts. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The Maple neck is finished in nitro lacquer for a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.5" radius, 21 medium jumbo frets and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play. With a slick AAA Rosewood fingerboard and a 60s Oval C profile, it feels great underhand.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '60 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a duo of '63 Tele single coils, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
Yet another absolute stunner from the guys at the Fender Custom Shop!
