Fender Custom Shop 59 Strat NOS Faded Fiesta Red

We constantly get asked for Custom Shop guitars with NOS finishes and tasty specs, so here they are! We're massive fans of the Custom Shop Relic Guitars, so we sometimes overlook the need for high end Strats and Tele that are still minty fresh!

We specced this model from the ground up to have a few twists on the classic '59 Strat while still respecting the tradition of this seminal era Fender.

The whole idea was to make them as playable as possible and sound as close to the real thing as you can get, whilst still retaining the classic feel of the originals. We've seen so many Strats with super flat fretboards and fancy pickups that just end up losing the classic character of the guitars but these models just nail the combination of easy modern playability and classic Strat tone. 

One change you'll notice is the inclusion of a 3 ply scratchplate, which for us is a no-brainer. Single plys are nice on certain finishes but we chose to add the 3 ply in.

The pickups are a set of some of the finest pickups that Fender Offer - A handwound set of Fat 60's single coil units. These pickups sound just superb and are really versatile. They have plenty of spank for the classic Strat tones of David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler and 70's era Clapton plus enough grunt to faciliate your best SRV/Mayer licks.

Another spec that we changed from an original '59 was the finish that's on the back of the neck - this guitar has a Satin nitro finish, which is super smooth and never sticky, unlike some of the Gloss nitro finishes on some Fenders
