The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster they really push the boundaries of Leo Fenders vision.
A lightweight Ash body is finished in a vibrant Nocaster Blonde NOS nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1952 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work.
The rift sawn Maple neck has a smooth, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius and medium vintage frets, the '52 Telecaster features a modern C profile; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. Loaded with a Twisted Tele at the neck and a 51 Nocaster at the bridge, you certainly get that famous Tele' tone.
