Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Journeyman Relic Bass Aged Black
Fender Custom Shop basses are the pinnacle of American bass construction, taking the classic Fender designs, the Custom Shop meticulously craft instruments of the highest standard. The Postmodern Precision Bass is an elegant take on one of the all-time classic bass guitars.
The light weight Alder body is typically comfortable thanks to the lush sweeping curves, and with a crisp Black Journeyman finish it looks real slick. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The Quartersawn Maple neck features a 60s J-Bass U profile, designed for precision and comfort; it's equally at home playing big low end root notes or technical work further up the neck. 20 Medium Jumbo frets, an AAA grade Rosewood fingerboard and a 9.5" radius make this bass feel familiar and supremely comfortable.
Loaded with a Custom Shop '62 Handwound Precision Bass pickup, you get period correct Fender tone, there's just no mistaking that signature Fender bass thump. With a chrome pickup cover, it really does give off the vintage vibe. American Deluxe machine heads and a Custom Shop string through body RSD bridge deliver ultimate tuning stability and intonation.
With a deluxe hardcase, the Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Precision Bass is road ready and a great piece for both players and collectors.
