In honour of the Crossroads Guitar Festival, a limited run of 50 superbly crafted custom guitars designed by Eric Clapton was commissioned to benefit the Crossroads Centre in Antigua. This auditorium-sized model's back and sides are constructed from truly stunning Ziricote that produces a deep, booming sound with a crisp treble response. A Vintage Tone System (VTS) Sitka spruce top captures the unmistakable tone of a vintage Martin.
The body, fingerboard and headplate are bound in European flamed maple. The guitar also features herringbone pearl inlay throughout, with Clapton's signature and Style 42 snowflakes on the fingerboard, the Crossroads Guitar Festival symbol on the bridge, and Martin's ornate alternate torch design on the headstock. Clapton drew upon the premium features of Martin's Modern Deluxe series for this model, including stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, a titanium truss rod, Liquidmetal bridge pins and a composite carbon fibre bridge plate.
Each guitar is strung with Martin's Clapton's Choice strings and includes a paper label hand-signed by Clapton and Martin owner and CEO, Chris Martin. A Custom Shop ply hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity are included. Like the Crossroads Guitar Festival, profits from this model will directly benefit the Crossroads Centre.
This guitar is 1 of only 2 coming to the UK!
