Gibson J-185 Limited Edition Red Spruce Vintage Sunburst
First introduced in 1951, the J-185 gave players a broader choice of flat-top acoustic guitars, and quickly became a hit. With a slightly smaller body than Gibson's fabled Super Jumbos, the J-185 offered an excellent alternative for players seeking a smaller body style without sacrificing acoustic power and projection.
Gibson's Custom Shop has really delivered with this special limited edition J-185, constructed with an aged red spruce top and thin vintage style back bracing for powerful, warm projection. Maple back and sides offer a cutting high mid-range which is a great pairing with the deep resonance that a jumbo produces. Other appointments on this limited edition include nickel Gotoh Keystone tuners, 4-ply binding on the top and back, a "belly up" rosewood bridge, and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. An L.R. Baggs pickup delivers a natural amplification, and this is all topped off with a classic sunburst finish.
