With an all Plain Laminated Maple construction, the B.B. King ES-355 is lively in tone and cuts through in any mix! The period correct Walnut nitrocellulose lacquer finish has been painstakingly aged by the Custom Shop Murphy Lab team in order to deliver the most authentic recreation imaginable. Weve seen the Murphy Lab team in action first hand, their attention to detail and precision is truly second to none!
The 3-piece Mahogany neck features an Artist Profile shaped neck, meaning it is an accurate clone of the original neck played by B.B. King. The Ebony fingerboard is dark in colour and decorated beautifully with period correct Mother of Pearl Custom Block inlays. It also features a 42.85mm nut width, 22 frets and a 24.75 scale length.
This guitar is loaded with a pair of Gibson Alnico 5 T-Type Custombucker pickups. This loadout is extremely responsive and delivers stunning definition and note clarity. Your tonal options are further enhanced by a period correct mono Varitone switch, which subtly alters the guitars character.
The B.B. King 74 ES-355 is finished off with a set of Kluson Waffleback tuners and a Maestro Vibrola tailpiece, both of which work together to ensure great stability. It also comes bundled with a host of case candy that ties back to that historic festival performance, as well as the legendary Rumble in the Jungle fight itself. A B.B. King Zaire hardshell case is also included.
