There are certain guitars that stand the test of time and with its timeless design, effortless playability and rich history, it's easy to see why the Gibson Trini Lopez Standard remains such an iconic guitar.
Back in 1964 the Gibson Guitar Corporation approached legendary singer and guitarist to design a couple of unique guitars to put into production. One of those awesome guitars created was the Gibson Trini Lopez Standard, based around the classic Gibson 335 Semihollow guitar but with a few rock and roll tweaks. Today, the originals are held in such high esteem as one of Gibson's top creations. This Reissue model by the Gibson Custom Shop pays homage to one of the all time greats.
The Trini Lopez Standard features a 335 body shape. Constructed with a 3-Ply Maple/Poplar/Maple body with a solid Maple centerblock, helping to provide great feedback resistance. The body sports the classic Cherry Nitrocellulose finish which will wear beautifully over time, just like the original '60s models.
The neck is something special, crafted from Mahogany, it features a gorgeous Rosewood fingerboard, embellished with the Split Diamond Cellulose Nitrate inlays, 12" Radius, 24.75" Scale Length and a 42.85mm Nut Width. It is superbly comfortable. With Authentic Medium-Jumbo fret wire and the tubeless historic truss rod, this guitar is as close as you can get to the real deal.
A Pair of Unpotted Custombucker Alnico III humbuckers deliver vintage inspired tone. They perfectly capture that '60s Gibson Archtop sound that is just so iconic. The Single Diamond Trapeze tailpiece with the Trini Lopez insert paired up with the ABR-1 bridge offer a safe and secure playing platform.
