The Gibson Explorer has always been one pretty radical guitar, initially launched back in '58 as part of Gibson's attempt to embrace futuristic design, it's been a players favourite since its subsequent relaunch back in '76. They don't come any better than this though, an updated take on the one that started it all!
The Gibson 1958 Explorer honours the rich history of this iconic guitar with some incredible features! The trail-blazing Explorer body is crafted from solid Mahogany, unlike the White Limba of it's older siblings, for a deep, resonant tone, perfect for embracing the heavier side of life, the body is really nicely weighted and balanced.
The Mahogany set neck rocks a authentic chunky C neck profile, 22 frets, a 24.75" scale length and a killer Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Super stable and supremely comfortable. Medium jumbo frets and a long tenon, hide glue contruction offer true vintage tonality.
Loaded with a duo of Custombucker III humbuckers, this guitar really rocks. Certainly not confined to just rock, this guitar can handle blues, jazz or country licks with no problems! This pickups deliver classic PAF tones.
