This guitar begins with a lightweight, yet extremely resonant Swamp Ash body. The all Swamp Ash construction gives this guitar a unique tone not usually found on a USA built PRS outside of the Private Stock. It’s bright, super sweet, and has a really balanced frequency range, meaning this guitar can turn its hand to just about anything! The McCarty Tobacco Sunburst gives this guitar a really nice classic feel to it, it really allows the natural beauty of the Swamp Ash to shine through.
Additionally, the Swamp Ash Special features a Pattern Regular bolt-on Maple neck, which allows for quick and easy movements right across the guitar. The Pattern Regular profile is extremely comfortable and feels great underhand. This guitar also features a Rosewood fingerboard, a 10” fingerboard radius, bird inlays, 22 frets, and a 25” scale length.
One of this guitars crowning features is its extremely versatile pickup loadout. It is equipped with a useful H/S/S setup, allowing you to cover a lot of ground. Two 58/15 humbuckers sit either side of a PRS Narrowfield single coil in the middle position. Thanks to the 5-way blade switch and dual mini-toggle coil-tap switches you can unlock up to 12 unique sound combinations. Roll back the tone control for added growl, turn it up for some shimmer, and have fun exploring this versatile tonal palette. The volume level between the humbucking and single-coil settings will remain even through it all.
With a Phase III locking tuners, and a PRS Gen III tremolo system, you can expect unparalleled stability no matter the environment or situation.
