Stephen Carpenter is a musician who values his craft over gear. He admits to not being the most discerning when it comes to equipment specifications, but he knows what he likes - pickups that produce clean and full sounds. He used a passive overwound humbucker when he first started out, and in 2000, he switched to the popular active pickups for 7-string guitars.
However, Stephen's interest was piqued when his guitar tech introduced him to the Fluence pickups. He was impressed with their sound and spent 45 minutes jamming on them. He was particularly drawn to Voice 2, which reminded him of the overwound passives he used to use.
The Fluence Signature Series Stephen Carpenter pickup set includes a glow-in-the-dark stripe on the front, one ceramic pickup for the bridge position and one alnico pickup for the neck or middle position, all components necessary for wiring Stephen's scheme, volume and tone pots, a push-pull Voice Selector pot for use in volume or tone positions, and all wiring required for installation.
The Fluence Signature Series Stephen Carpenter pickups are versatile and can be set and forgotten or wired to toggle between musically complimentary voices. They can easily replace standard humbucker pickups and are rechargeable with an optional lithium-ion battery pack that offers weeks of playing time, rather than just hours.
