The Fender Player II Modified Active Jazz Bass V is designed for the modern bassist seeking a reliable and versatile instrument. This bass features a comfortable Modern "C" neck profile, finished with a satin urethane coating, allowing for smooth and efficient playability. The 9.5-inch radius fingerboard, available in rosewood or maple, includes rolled edges and 20 medium jumbo frets, contributing to a comfortable playing experience.
The body, constructed from alder, delivers the classic Fender tonal characteristics. The instrument is equipped with Player II noiseless pickups, designed to produce the traditional Jazz Bass growl while minimising unwanted noise. These pickups are paired with a newly designed active preamp, operating at 18 volts, which features a passive tone control and a 3-band EQ. The EQ allows for precise tonal adjustments, with a refined mid-Q and centre frequency.
For enhanced stability, the bass includes a 5-saddle HiMass bridge. This bridge design increases resonance and sustain, and the chrome-plated zinc saddles provide solid intonation and tuning stability. The tuning machines feature tapered shafts, which improve tuning stability by increasing the string break angle. A Graph Tech TUSQ nut is also incorporated, which contributes to tuning stability and enhances midrange harmonics.
This bass is intended for musicians who require a reliable instrument capable of handling various musical styles. The combination of the active preamp, noiseless pickups, and stable hardware provides a functional and adaptable bass guitar.
