Description

If you're searching for a truly special instrument, the pre-owned Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Dennis Galuszka 1956 Stratocaster NOS in Trans Butterscotch certainly ticks the box. This unique guitar, crafted in 2006 by renowned Master Builder Dennis Galuszka, seamlessly blends the timeless charm of Fender's Stratocaster design with a bold dose of Telecaster inspiration.

Dennis Galuszka: A Master Fender Builder

Hailing from Southern California, Dennis Galuszka brings a lifelong passion for woodworking and music to his craft. With roots as a cabinetmaker and acoustic guitar builder, Galuszka's journey to Fender Custom Shop began in 1999, culminating in his promotion to Master Builder just eight months after joining. His portfolio includes iconic builds for legends like Paul McCartney, Andy Summers, and Johnny Marr, as well as distinctive creations like double-neck guitars and artist models. This guitar exemplifies Galuszka's commitment to superior tone and feel, his top priorities in every instrument.

A Stratocaster with a Telecaster Soul

While unmistakably a Stratocaster in body shape, headstock, and pickguard design, this guitar exudes Telecaster vibes in its functionality and aesthetics. Dressed in a Trans Butterscotch finish with a black pickguard, the guitar takes cues from the classic Telecaster look. It features two Rio Grande Tele pickups - Vintage Tallboy in the neck and a Muy Grande in the bridge - delivering a versatile tonal range, from clean, articulate highs to powerful, full-bodied growls.

The controls follow the Telecaster format, with a 3-way switch, single tone, and volume knobs, deviating from the Strat's usual 5-way switch and dual tone controls. This clever hybrid design offers a fresh perspective on two iconic Fender models.

Playability and Tone

At just 5 pounds 13 ounces, the select ash body makes this guitar incredibly lightweight, ensuring effortless playability. The maple neck, with its exquisite flame figuring, not only looks stunning but feels fantastic in hand. The radius, measured at approximately 11" with a hand gauge, and medium-sized frets provide a comfortable playing experience suited for both vintage enthusiasts and modern players. We are doing a full complimentary PLEK setup on the guitar, which will confirm the exact radius as well as offering the best playability possible.

The Rio Grande pickups are a standout feature - perfect for some extra Texas twang:

  • Vintage Tallboy Classic Neck: Perfect for clean mids and highs while maintaining a vintage look.
  • Muy Grande Tele Bridge: Offers classic Tele tones with added power and extra gain.

Unique NOS Meets Authentic Relic Appeal

Originally finished in Fender's New Old Stock (NOS) style - mimicking a guitar that's been preserved in mint condition - this pre-owned gem now boasts natural wear, giving it authentic relic charm. With nitrocellulose lacquer checking, colour fading, and honest signs of use, the guitar exudes a vibe that's as cool as it is genuine.

Enhanced Intonation and Customisation

The guitar features a Fender 6-saddle Tele bridge, delivering impeccable intonation. However, the original 3-saddle bridge (with the stamped serial number) is included in the case, allowing for customisation to suit your preferences.

An Investment in Sound and Style

At a pre-owned price, it offers unparalleled craftsmanship, tonal versatility, and vintage-inspired beauty. Whether you're a collector or a performer, this guitar is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Fender's rich legacy.
