The Fender Custom Shop Dale Wilson Masterbuilt '68 Tele is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
The sort for lightweight Ash body is fitted out in a aged Pink Paisley. This clear Nitro finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further, it also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively. The wear patterns are incredible, so genuine and authentic, Dale Wilson is considered the King of relic work at the Custom Shop and its definitely on display here!
Just take a moment to admire how beautiful the AAA Flame Maple neck is! With a large C profile measuring .875" at the 1st fret and .950" at the 12th, 9.50" radius and Medium Jumbo (6150) frets its super resonant and feels incredible underhand.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '68 Tele needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a Hand wound "Twisted Tele" in the neck and a Hand wound 51 Nocaster Bridge pickup, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
With a Bigsby Vibrato and choice of 2 bridges, you can use the original (in the case) or the "Postmodern RSD" bridge piece, which Dale actually supplied to former owner. The one pictured works great and in our opinion adds extra resonance and enhanced tuning stability but feel free to experiment!
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. Guitars of this calibre just don't come around every day, we love it and we're pretty sure you will too!
