The Fender Custom Shop Dale Wilson Masterbuilt Smoked Telecaster is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
The Ash body is finished in a really authentic heavy aged Smoked Nocaster colour. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further, it also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively. The wear patterns are incredible, so genuine and authentic, Dale Wilson is considered the King of relic work at the Custom Shop and its definitely on display here!
The quarter sawn Maple neck is real comfortable. With a '52 style U profile, 7.25" - 9.5" compound radius and 6105 frets its super resonant and feels incredible underhand.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop Smoked Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand-wound Twisted Tele at the neck and a Broadcaster at the bridge, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection. These pickups were hand wound by Fender pickup guru Josefina Campos, apprentice to the legendary Abi Ybarra, Josefina knows all the secrets to tonal supremacy!
An iconic Bigsby B-16 vibrato unit takes centre stage and offers a truly unique approach to tremolo systems. Bold and brash it lets you unleash subtle textures or big country dives!
