Dale Wilson is known across the globe as one of Fenders highly revered Masterbuilders, a select group of the worlds most esteemed luthiers. With this Godly status, any guitar with his name attached generates a huge amount of interest, and rightly so.
The Fender Custom Shop Dale Wilson Masterbuilt '61 Strat Relic is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
An Alder body is finished in the classic Relic Faded 3 colour Sunburst, one of Fender's most popular finishes, it's a real beauty! Authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. The thin nitro finish also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively. Dale is the King of relic work at the custom shop and this certainly doesn't disappoint though!
The quartersawn Maple neck has a dark tint and no finish on the back. With an AAA Rosewood fingerboard, 7.25"-9.5" radius and 21 frets, the '61 Custom Shop Stratocaster can handle anything you throw at it without even breaking a sweat; it's supremely comfortable and well balanced. The 60 style oval C Profile is a joy to play and offers a great platform for both rhythm and lead playing.
With a trio of hand wound Fender Custom Shop '50s pickups it delivers all the sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat. These pickups were hand wound by legendary pickup guru Josefina Campos, she trained under Abigail Ybarra and knows the secrets to unlock the tonal potential of any guitar!
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. Guitars of this calibre just don't come around every day, we love it and we're pretty sure you will to!
