The Fender Custom Shop Dale Wilson Masterbuilt '63 Telecaster is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
The Exotic wood body (we believe it to be Korina) is finished in a really crisp TV Yellow NOS. Period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1963 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work. Dale Wilson is considered the King of relic work at the Custom Shop and it's unusual for us to have an NOS of his in stock, its certainly an impressive instrument though!
The solid Rosewood neck is real comfortable. With a '60s Oval C profile, 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets its super resonant and feels incredible underhand. With an oil finish, this 1 piece Rosewood neck is a completely different take on what makes Telecasters so comfortable and traditionally styled!
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '63 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a duo of hand-wound Twisted Tele' pickups, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. Guitars of this calibre just don't come around every day, we love it and we're pretty sure you will too!
