The Fender Stratocaster is probably the most iconic guitar ever produced and the Fender Custom Shop '61 Stratocaster is a fitting addition to this legendary line.
The Alder body is finished in a classic Black nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The Journeyman finish is unbelievable; the attention to detail here is meticulous and super authentic.
The quarter sawn roasted Maple neck has a smooth satin finish and a AAA-grade Rosewood fingerboard. With a 9.5-12.0" compound radius, a contoured neck heel, 22 6100 frets, and a 1.650" nut width this guitar is posed and ready for action.
It also features a '60 Style Oval "C" neck shape which measures .790" at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th fret. It's supremely comfortable and well balanced.
With a duo of Handwound Fender '59 Strat pickups it delivers those sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat. Rich and smooth, it's a premium Stratocaster tone. But with the addition of the EVH Frankenstein humbucker in bridge to bring the heat and power when needed.
