The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
The traditional Ash body is finished in a classic Nocaster Blonde nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1952 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work.
The Plain Grain Maple neck has a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, '59 Esquire "C" shape neck measuring .790" at 1st fret and .970" at 12th fret, 21 6105 frets, 1.650" Nut Width and a 25.5" scale length, it's a real joy to play.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand wound 50-51 Blackguard neck pickup and a hand wound Crushed Blackguard bridge pickup it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
