An Ash body is finished in a lush Aged Natural Super Heavy Relic nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The heavy, dirty checking on this guitar is super authentic, a real work of art!
The rift sawn Maple neck has a smooth, vintage feel. With a 7.25" - 9.50" compound radius and medium vintage frets, the '51 Telecaster features a 10/56 V profile; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '51 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. Loaded with a hand wound Fender Crushed Blackguard at the bridge, you certainly get that famous Tele' tone. This beaut has a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover at the neck, super versatile it delivers authentic PAF tones, the perfect complement to this guitar!
