The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Fender Custom Shop 2020 Telecaster Custom they bring us a Fender model with a real cult following.
The lightweight Ash body is finished in a stunning Aged Black relic, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes.
The quartersawn AA Flame Maple neck is also finished in nitro lacquer for a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.5" radius, 21 narrow tall frets and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play. With a 60 style oval C profile, it feels great underhand.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, this Custom Shop Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a wide range humbucker at the neck and a hand wound Broadcaster single coil at the bridge, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
